Mitä ostajat sanoivat
She spotted herself on the second page and went completely quiet, then asked me to read it again straight away. It has not left her bed since.
I ordered it for my grandson three days before Christmas and had no faith it would arrive. It did, and his mother cried before he did.
I was fully prepared for the face to be almost right and slightly wrong. It is not. It is him, in a way I did not think a machine could manage.
We have about four thousand photos of that first Christmas and not one of them gets looked at. This gets looked at every week.
The bit that got me was his name printed inside the story rather than stuck on the cover. He thinks the book was written about him, and I am not correcting him.
I read the whole thing twice before I paid, which is the only reason I paid. Everyone else wanted the money first and a photo of my daughter with it.

Katso hahmoa
Alle 30 sekunnin päästä hahmo on piirretty kirjan tyyliin tuon kuvan pohjalta.
Kirjaa luetaan
A parent and child read the book together in the corner of the sofa. A bedtime reading by the light of one lamp. A grandparent and child on the living room floor with the book between them. A child reads the book alone, following the line with one finger.
Piirretty kuvasi pohjalta
Hahmolla on valokuvan lapsen kasvot, hiukset ja värit, piirrettyinä kirjan omaan tyyliin.
Mediassa
Jokaisella sivulla
Kirja, jota lapsi lukee kanssasi

She recognized herself instantly
My daughter is four and the second I opened the cover she screamed "that's ME!" and grabbed it out of my hands. The little gap in her front teeth is in there, which I did not expect from a photo upload. We have read it eleven times since Tuesday.
He sits down with books now
My son is six and would rather run laps than look at a picture book. He read this one himself, twice in a row, because he's in it. I will take that win.
Better than I expected
I've bought two other personalized books over the years and both were basically a name dropped into a template. This one actually draws the kid. My son's glasses are in every spread, which he pointed out with considerable pride.
He tells people he wrote it
Not true. Not correcting him either.
The confidence it gave her
My daughter is in that stage where she's convinced she can't do anything right. We read this before school three days in a row. She told me she was "practicing," like the girl in the book. The teacher noticed something different. So did I.
Took it to show and tell
He came home and told me the whole class wanted to see it because it had his face in it. I had to explain that they'd need their own. He was extremely disappointed on their behalf.
She memorized it in a week
She can recite it page by page. She reads it to her stuffed animals at bedtime after I've said goodnight and left the room. I hear her through the door. I'm not going to stop her.
He wanted to know what he does in it every night
He insists we read it to find out what he does that night. The premise doesn't change. He doesn't care. The adventure is different every time in his mind and I am not going to argue with that.
The illustrations are nothing like the cheap ones
I was braced for the usual: a template with a name pasted in. Instead the art is genuinely warm and the character actually looks like my son. He spent the first read touching his hair on every page.
Arrived in perfect condition, faster than expected
Ordered on Monday, arrived Thursday, in a padded envelope and not a crease in sight. The book is exactly what the preview showed. Would order again without hesitation.
Kysymyksiä
Millainen on hyvä kuva?
Yksi lapsi, kasvot selvästi näkyvissä, katse suunnilleen kameraan. Ei sivuprofiilia, ei mitään kasvojen edessä.
Minkä ikäisille tämä on?
Ensimmäisistä kuvakirjoista noin kahdeksaan ikävuoteen, ja eri iässä kirja toimii eri tavalla. Kaksivuotias osoittaa itseään sivulla. Nelivuotias pyytää lukemaan sen uudelleen. Kuusivuotias lukee sanat sinulle takaisin.
Onko tarina erilainen jokaiselle lapselle?
Tarina pysyy samana.
