There is a person behind Proudchapter

We make one book at a time, for one child, out of one photograph.

Why we built it

Most personalised children’s books put a name on a page. The drawing stays the same for every child, and a parent can see that.

We wanted the opposite. The child in the photograph is the child in the book, on every page, and you read the whole thing before you decide whether to buy it.

How a book is made

  1. One photograph

A clear view of their face is all it takes. Not a good photograph. A photograph.

  2. The character is drawn

The same child on every page, in the same hand, with their own eyes and their own hair. Not a template with a name dropped into it.

  3. The book is printed

Bound after it is ordered and sent to you. Nothing is stocked, because no two copies are the same.

What happens to the photograph

It is used to draw the character and kept only as long as your book needs it. Not kept for training, not passed on.

If you order, it stays only as long as printing your copy needs it. The details are in our privacy notice.

If something is wrong

There is a person at the other end, and we would rather hear it than not. Write to us. We answer within one business day.
