What you get
A 24-page picture book, softcover or hardcover, with your child drawn as the character on every page and their name printed through the story rather than on the cover alone.
Delivery
Printed and bound to order, then shipped. 5 to 7 business days door to door within the United States, for a flat $6.95.
What buyers said
She spotted herself on the second page and went completely quiet, then asked me to read it again straight away. It has not left her bed since.
I ordered it for my grandson three days before Christmas and had no faith it would arrive. It did, and his mother cried before he did.
I was fully prepared for the face to be almost right and slightly wrong. It is not. It is him, in a way I did not think a machine could manage.
We have about four thousand photos of that first Christmas and not one of them gets looked at. This gets looked at every week.
The bit that got me was his name printed inside the story rather than stuck on the cover. He thinks the book was written about him, and I am not correcting him.
I read the whole thing twice before I paid, which is the only reason I paid. Everyone else wanted the money first and a photo of my daughter with it.
How it works
Upload a photo
One child, face clearly visible. The photo does not have to be perfect: you see the result before you decide.
See the character
Less than 30 seconds later the character is drawn in the style of the book, from that photo.
Read it together
The whole book opens on screen. Make it again if it is not right, buy it if it is, and read the printed one with them.
The book being read
A mother reads a spread of the book to the child on the sofa. The child reads the book in bed, the cover held up in the lamplight.
Drawn from your photo
The character keeps the face, hair and coloring of the child in the photograph, drawn in the book's own style.

As seen in
On every page
The character is placed into each scene of the book, not only onto the cover, which is the part that makes a child look for themselves on the next page, and read on to find out.

Printed to order
Softcover or hardcover, thick paper, printed for one child once the order is placed, then shipped straight out.

What this book is
What is true of every title in this shop.
Your child on every page
The character is drawn from the photograph and appears in each scene, not only on the cover. Their name runs through the text.
The book they read with you
Research suggests children smile, talk and stay with a story more when it is about them. A child who wants the book open is the child who starts reading it back to you.
A printed book
Softcover or hardcover, thick paper, made for one child once the order is placed. A book, not a printout.

Three weeks, same book every night
Three weeks in. She hasn't asked for anything else at bedtime. I'm starting to know it by heart, which is how I know it's doing its job.

Better than any sleep routine we've tried
Months of bedtime resistance and nothing stuck. This did. She asks for Lullaby Lane herself now, which is not something she has ever done with a book.

Slept with it under her pillow
First night it arrived she would not sleep without it beside her. Still going two weeks later.

She tells me where the lane is
She asks which street leads to Lullaby Lane. I told her it's just past ours. She accepted this without question and now points at it every time we drive past the corner.

Our bedtime went from forty minutes to ten
It used to be a production. Now she picks Lullaby Lane, we read it once, she's out. I don't know exactly what it does but I'm not questioning it.
The illustrations match her so well
Her freckles, the curl she hates, the little birthmark on her cheek, all there. She keeps touching the page like she's checking. The level of detail for a children's book is not something I expected.
It came at just the right time
We moved house two months ago and she'd been struggling at bedtime in the new room. Something about seeing herself in a calm, familiar story made the room feel safer. I don't have another explanation for it.
She recites it back to her baby sister
She's four and her sister is one. She holds the book open in front of her and reads it aloud, slowly, pointing at each page. The baby watches her face. I watch both of them.
Already ordered one for my nephew
My sister called after she saw it at our house. Ordered one for her son the same week. The books look nothing alike because the kids look nothing alike. That's the whole point.
The quality is obvious the moment you hold it
I've given personalized books as gifts before and they always feel like an afterthought. This one feels considered. The paper, the binding, the colors. My daughter noticed immediately and she's three.
Questions
What makes a good photo?
One child, face clearly visible, roughly facing the camera. No side profiles, nothing covering the face.
What age is this for?
From their first picture books to about eight, and it works differently at each end. At two they point at themselves on the page. At four they ask for it again. At six they read the words back to you. Each book says the ages it was written for.
What happens to the photo?
Photos kept only for the preview expire under our preview cleanup policy. When you continue to checkout, your photo and book details are copied to a private archive and retained indefinitely for making your book and future reprints. They are not used to train models.
Can the character be drawn again?
Yes, and you can say what should be different before it is.
Is the story different for each child?
The story stays the same. The name and the character change with the child.
How long does delivery take?
5 to 7 business days to a US address, printing and binding included, because every book is made after it is ordered. Order a little ahead of a birthday.
What about returns?
A book made for one child cannot be resold, so it cannot be returned on a change of mind. That is why you read every page before paying. If it arrives damaged or wrong, we replace it: write to us.
