Privacy notice
Last changed on 2 November 2026. This notice explains what personal information this shop handles when you personalise and buy a product, and what your rights are under UK data protection law.
Who is responsible
Pet Printed GmbH, Fichtenstraße 5, 90763 Fürth, Germany, support@proudchapter.com, which runs this shop as Proud Chapter, is the controller under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018: the company that decides what is done with your information and answers for it. Write to us at support@proudchapter.com about anything in this notice.
What we handle, and why
Your child's photo. You upload it so that our design can be painted with your child in it. It goes to Google's Gemini model, which paints the preview and, if you order, the print. It is used for nothing else: not for advertising, not for other customers, not to train any model, and not to recognise or identify anybody.
The name and choices you enter, which are printed on the product.
Your order: what you bought, what you paid, your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and the contact details you give at checkout. Card details go to Shopify, who take the payment, and never reach us.
How the shop is used: which pages were opened, where a visit came from, and whether an advert led to a purchase. The cookies page lists what is stored in your browser for this.
For the preview allowance: a random visitor number in a cookie and a salted hash of your internet address, so that the free previews are not used without limit. We do not store the address itself.
The legal basis
Making your preview and your product is the contract between us, or the step you asked for before it (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Your child's photo is used because you and we share an interest in making the product you asked for (Article 6(1)(f)). Keeping the archive of a paid order so a damaged product can be remade, limiting the free previews, and measuring how the shop is used and which adverts work rest on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). The record of a sale is kept because tax and accounting law require it (Article 6(1)(c)).
You do not have to give us any of it, but without a photo or a name there is no design, and without an address there is no delivery.
Who receives it
- Google (Gemini): the photo and the design, to paint the preview and the print.
- Shopify: runs the payment pages and takes the payment; receives your order and contact details.
- Vercel: runs this website.
- Supabase and Cloudflare: store the shop's data and pictures for us.
- KIE: when a print needs more pixels than the painting has, the painting (not your photo) is enlarged by Recraft's upscaler through KIE.
- Harrier: our production partner, which makes and sends every product offered in the United Kingdom at the moment. It receives the print file, the preview of your design, the name on it and the delivery address.
- MerchOne (Germany): makes our pillows, which are not offered in the United Kingdom at present. It receives nothing from UK orders today.
- Google Analytics: how the shop is used.
- Meta: that a product was looked at or added to the basket, that a payment was started and that an order was paid with its value, together with the identifiers Meta's own cookies set and the kind of browser. Never the photo, your child's name or your address.
The preview of your design that the producer is shown sits on your order as a web address that is not published and cannot be guessed, but opens without a sign-in for anyone who has it. Every other picture is stored privately.
We do not sell your personal information.
Where it travels
Pet Printed GmbH is in Germany, which the United Kingdom recognises as protecting personal information adequately. Some of the services above handle information outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, mostly in the USA. Each receives only what is described above. Write to us and we tell you which safeguard covers each of them and how to get a copy.
How long it is kept
- If you do not order: the photo is deleted no later than 14 days after upload, and the preview and the pictures made from it no later than 7 days.
- If you add a product to your basket: what it will print (the name, your choices, the painting and the preview the producer is shown) is kept for 60 days, and its copy of your photo for 14 days.
- If you order: the print files and your photo are copied into a private archive so that a damaged or lost product can be made again without asking you for the photo. The archive has no end date. You can have it deleted at any time with one message.
- The record of the sale is kept as long as tax and accounting law require. It does not contain your photo.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to be told what we hold about you and to get a copy; to have it corrected; to have it deleted, including your child's photo and the archive; to have its use restricted; to receive what you gave us in a form you can take elsewhere; and, where something rests on your consent, to withdraw it at any time. One message to support@proudchapter.com is enough. We answer within one month, and if a request is complex we tell you within that month that we need up to two more.
Your right to object: where we rely on our legitimate interests, you can object at any time, and we stop unless we have compelling grounds that outweigh yours or need the information for a legal claim. An objection to anything used for advertising stops it without any weighing of interests.
No decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made by a machine alone. If the AI model cannot use a photo, you are asked for another, and a person answers if you write.
Children
This shop sells to adults. Only upload a photo of a child if you may use it, for example as their parent or guardian. A parent or guardian who wants a child's photo or details removed can have that done with one message.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, write to us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
Storage is encrypted at rest and pictures sit at addresses that are not published. If something happens to your information that puts you at risk, we tell you.
